The main controller, the mp-x, is the most powerful. It offers the whole functionality range. With a frequency range from 0 to 300 Hz and an amplitude range from 0 to 250 V it is the number one choice for extensive testing of the micropumps. Due to the three different signal forms it is a good choice for most pump applications.

 

Wave Signals for Drive Conditions

The voltage determines the deflection height of the piezo actuator and the frequency the number of the deflections. By varying these parameters together with the signal wave shape (rectangular, sine, SRS), different flow rates can be achieved. A rectangular signal gives highest fluidic flow rate, while a sine wave minimizes the audible noise. The SRS wave is typically the optimal setting for aqueous solutions and the noise level is low. The evaluation controllers mp-x, mp6-OEM, mp6-EVA and mp6-QuadEVA enable the customer to test the micropump and develop optimal drive conditions for specific applications.

The mp6-OEM driver module is a small, easy to use low cost driving circuit developed for the mp6 or mp6-pp micropumps. It generates up to 235 V peak to peak voltage from a 3 to 5 V supply. Its low power consumption makes it ideal for battery powered handheld devices or even solar powered devices. The module can be integrated into a PCB design like a 14 pin DIL package. The built-in interface allows the user to adapt frequency and / or amplitude to its application by the use of a few additional components or a microcontroller.

 


OEM Controller

The mp6-OEM Controller with the board enables the simple use of the mp6 based on the mp6-OEM controller. Next to preset standard parameter (235 Vpp, 100 Hz) the mp6-EVA also allows to adjust the pump parameters, partly by external tuning. As the supply voltage of the module can be provided via USB (no data interface), just attach it to a USB power supply and start the evaluation. Alternatively it can also be supplied by a 2.5 to 5 V voltage source.

 


Quad Controller

The mp6-Quad Controller is an evaluation board that allows to control up to four mp6 micropumps simultaneously with one setting and up to a frequency of 800 Hz. It is possible to change pump voltage and pump frequency directly with the rotary control elements at the board or via USB. Simple control software is provided with the board. Also any terminal software can be used to remotely control frequency and amplitude or enable/disable each of the four pumps.

The mp6-QuadKEY drive module allows to control up to four mp6 micropumps simultaneously with various waveforms, frequencies ranging from 50 Hz up to 800 Hz and amplitudes from 10 Vpp to 250 Vpp.

The mp6-QuadKEY Controller is an evaluation board that allows controlling the mp6-Quad OEM through an Arduino Nano or pin compatible microcontroller.

Up to four mp6 micropumps can be directly connected to the board. An external power supply terminal is available, but the board can also be powered through the microcontroller USB port. All of the microcontroller port pins are exposed for easy access (to connect external hardware).

The mp6-QuadKEY comes with a demo software and source code.
