The OptoReader is an optical measurement system designed for microfluidics. It uses an optical fiber to both illuminate and capture light emitted by the sample.

Measure optical properties in your microfluidic channel

The Optoreader offers great advantages over conventional optical microscopy thanks to its compact design, real-time processing capacity, high detection sensitivity and cost effectiveness.


PRINCIPLE

Detection limit: 1 nM FITC (better available in option)

The OptoReader uses one optical fiber to both illuminate and capture light emitted by the sample. In function of your needs, there are different available versions:

OptoReader Basic: Measurement of fluorescence.

OptoReader Fluo: Simultaneous measurement of reflection & fluorescence.

 

PERFORMANCE

  • Compact optical fiber-based design: for an easy and versatile integration with your microfluidic device.
  • Bidirectional Optical fiber output: only one optical fiber is required to perform simultaneous reflection and fluorescence measurement.
  • High throughput detection: 100 kHz acquisition, capable of detecting thousands of events per seconds.
  • High sensitivity: Fluorescence detection limit: < 1 fW x bandwidth1/2 or 3 x 103 photons x bandwidth1/2
  • Plug & Play: the OptoReader can interact with other Elveflow products through the Elveflow software suite.
